The people behind ARGEOgraph
Maaike de Waal (PhD) studied 'Prehistory of Northwestern Europe' and 'Caribbean archaeology' at Leiden University (the Netherlands). She directed several archaeological field projects in the Caribbean and she worked as lecturer and researcher at the University of the West Indies (Barbados) and at Leiden University (the Netherlands). Besides this, Maaike obtained ample experience in commercial archaeology in the Netherlands by working as archaeological project director and as team manager (archaeological prospection) for RAAP Archaeological Consultancy.
Jochem Lesparre (MSc) studied geodesy at Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands). He is employed at the innovation department of the Netherlands' Cadastre, Land Registry and Mapping Agency (Kadaster). Next to this, he is working on a PhD research project focusing on laser scanning at Delft University of Technology. Jochem obtained experience in Caribbean archaeology during fieldwork on Guadeloupe, St. Lucia and Barbados. He taught theoretical and practical courses for archaeology students at the University of the West Indies (Barbados), and at Saxion University of Applied Sciences in Deventer (the Netherlands).
